Dam Levels in Cape Town

The city of Cape Town and its residents came together to rise above the drought and bring our water usage not only down to the recommended daily allowance but below where we needed it to be. Residents, tourists, small businesses and large corporations all changed their ways for the sake of our water and beautiful city.  

The Last Word has made every effort to initiate a change in how we go about using water in the daily running of the hotel and to ensure that our guests are aware of this. We are tapping into underground water sources and have installed sophisticated water filtration systems.

The dams in and around Cape Town form part of the Western Cape Water Supply System, which is an integrated and collectively managed system of dams, pump stations, pipelines, and tunnels. In addition to servicing Cape Town, the system supplies water to towns in the Overberg, Boland, West Coast, and Swartland areas, and provides irrigation water for agriculture.

As of 29 October 2019 the dam levels are at 83,2%.
