Floral Arranging and Photography Workshop

Join Caryn McArthy – ex creative Director of Fairlady magazine, now floral designer, along with Liza van Deventer – photographer extraordinaire –  to teach you the art of arranging seasonal flowers like a pro and how to capture their loveliness.

Cary worked in the magazine world for 30 years – I was the Creative Director of many titles: Marie Claire, Cosmo Fashion Directory, Brides and Homes,Leadership magazine – just to mention a few and the last 14 years she was Deputy Editor/Creative Director of Fairlady magazine.

"It was a wonderfully creative environment, and was hugely fortunate to work with some of the best people in the industry. How ever in the last number of years the magazine world has been floundering and last year I decided to take a step away from mags
and shift my design on paper to petals. I have dreamt of being a florist for the longest time, and strangely enough Covid enabled me the space to make that difficult decision. So here I am, in a brand new world – with so much to share"

Surround yourself with beautiful blooms sourced from our wonderful local flower farmers, Adene’s flowers, Jamestown flower farm and Jaftha’s flower farm to mention just a few. Learn how to condition your flowers so they have a longer vase life, how to fashion a spiral bouquet and how to create an arrangement without the dreaded floral foam.

We look forward to meeting you all and sharing with you this wonderful world of flower arranging and photography.

Each student will receive a goodie bag with the following items to use during the day - floral scissors, rose stripper, floral tape, an apron, a re-purposed vessel and the glorious arrangement of seasonal flowers that you create to take home.

Price for a one day workshop is R2300  per person, includes a delicious curated cheese picnic lunch, a glass of wine or bubbly on arrival and any teas/coffees/afternoon tea cakes.
