Last Word
stories
Perhaps it is the laughter drifting up from the sparkling poolside or the cheery atmosphere at breakfast. Could it be the thoughtful touches at turndown? Or, the kind, helpful hand extended at the exact moment you need it by one of our lovely people. Could it be the warm twinkle of recognition in our team's eyes as you arrive for yet another fantastic stay? Whether or not you can put your finger on it, we guarantee it is all due to our lovely people in our lovely places.
It is a beautiful, bright day here so we wander out the beach access gate of Last Word Long Beach directly on to Long Beach. A few steps later, their toes kissed by the seafoam, they leave nothing but footprints as they fall in step and easy conversation of a long overdue catch-up.
NC: Fanie, it's so good to see you again. FW: Thanks, Nicky, it's always good to have you back in Kommetjie with our fresh sea air and endless views.
NC: How long have you held your position as General Manager? FW: It's been six years (already!) since my first day as General Manager here at Last Word Long Beach.
NC: What is your best part of the day? FW: Getting to see the sun go down over the ocean is my favourite part of my day.
NC: During your time with us, have you had any guests who didn't ever want to leave? FW: Oh, yes! Our guests always say that they wish they could've stayed longer because they don't want to leave this paradise.
NC: What does the term 'beyond boutique' mean to you and your team? FW: We pride ourselves on our service, attention to detail and going the extra mile with a smile. We make our guests feel 'home' away from home.
NC: For which experience is Last Word Long Beach best known? FW: We are located right on the beach, with kilometres of soft white sand and the most stunning views on our doorstep here at Last Word Long Beach. I would say, however, that our delicious seafood meals complemented by our romantic setting and the legendary sunsets are our best-loved experience. There is so much more to mention, but I will stop there for now.
