Embark on a thrilling scenic flight led by HFWHS’s pilotconservationist Jana Meyer, over the Klaserie Private NatureReserve and across the Blyde River Canyon. The word blyde,loosely translated from Afrikaans to English, literally means ‘joy’.Along the way, Jana, an accredited field guide, will share information with you about ongoing conservation initiatives and howthe inhabitants of the diverse patchwork quilt beneath you fittogether.

As you rise above the varied biomes, spotting animals roaming freebelow you, we are sure you will experience joy in its purest form. Toflit over the basking fruit orchards and witness the elevation of themighty Drakensberg Mountains before zooming headlong into thebreathtaking canyon is a life-changing experience. The flight onthe way back provides a heart-stopping moment, as the mountain(highveld) seems to drop out from underneath you, giving way toa jaw-droppingly beautiful panorama. Awestruck, you are rewarded with lesser-seen views of the Lowveld as far as the eye can see. Amazing!

The hour-long Blyde River Canyon helicopter flip is an exhilarating journey from the Lowveld bush to one of the largest canyons onEarth. KPNRK9 Unit

The use of working dogs (K9’s) in support of wildlife protection endeavours iswell recognized across the World.

Wildlife conservation dogs are deployed to perform two primaryfunctions, firstly substance detection and secondly to track andpursue fugitives or criminal elements. These qualities are unique tohighly trained and skilled K9/handler units and cannot be substituted by humans or other technology.

The KPNR K9 experience forms part of a fundraising initiative in support of the KPNR K9 Unit’s sustainability, care-and safety of ourK9 dogs. It also demonstrates the important function of the K9pack-units (dogs and handlers) within the security-and conservation frameworks of the reserve.

This offers guests the unique opportunity to be part of the actionduring a K9 demonstration of the endangered species K9 detectionor tracking pack-units, while detecting contraband substances ortracking down “suspects” while being part of our K9 tracking pack-unit.
